Dragons of Atlantis Stone Dragon Armor Guide

Updated on March 13, 2012

Like everything in Dragons of Atlantis, obtaining your Stone Dragon Armor is as easy as swiping your credit card. You can purchase your Stone Dragon Armor from the shop for Rubies, which you can buy for real money. Personally, I think the best part of playing a game like Dragons of Atlantis is spending the time to find a special item. This guide will show you how to find your Stone Dragon Armor the way that it was meant to be found: by playing the game and not opening your wallet.

Stone Dragon Outpost

There are a few things that you will have to do before starting to farm for your Stone Dragon Armor. First of all, you will need to have created your Stone Dragon Outpost. If you haven't done this yet, you will not be able to find any Stone Dragon Armor. Follow the link to check out my guide on creating and setting up your Stone Dragon Outpost.

Other Preperations

To be able to farm for your Stone Dragon Armor, you need to be able to attack with your Great Dragon and preferably with your Water Dragon. To do this, you need to:

  • Research Aeriel Combat

To research Aeriel Combat, your Science Center needs to have researched Dragonry to level 8 or higher. One of the most important things to do in Dragons of Atlantis is always have your Science Center working to improve your empire. If you haven't been keeping up on research, start ASAP as it does take some time. Check out the links to view guides on how to find your Great and Water Dragon Armor.

Preparing Your Army

For purposes of this guide, I am suggesting that you have at least 50,000 Longbowmen at your disposal. Also, high levels of research in Weapons Calibration, Metallurgy, and Medicine do not hurt whenever you are attacking high level wildernesses.

Wilderness Slots

One other preparation to make before starting to attack is to make sure that all of your wilderness slots are full. You are allowed to control a specific number of wildernesses based on the level of your City and the level of the plain that each of your Outposts is built on. If all of your slots are full, when you conquer a wilderness your troops will take the loot and immediately start to march back to your city. If you have not filled all of these slots, the farming process will take much longer than if you have open slots.

Each wilderness you control will give you a resource production boost based on the level of the wilderness. It is best to control as many high level wildernesses as possible to dramatically increase the production of your resources.

Where to Find Stone Dragon Armor

Stone Dragon Armor can be found by defeating level 7 or higher Hills. According to Kabam, the higher level the wilderness, the higher the drop rate for the Dragon Armor. This means that you should be farming the highest level wilderness that you can conquer. If you have met all of the requirements above, you have more than enough to farm a level 10 Hill. If there is not a level 10 Hill close to your city, it may be more efficient to find a close level 9 Hill to farm. Sending LBM takes time, especially if you haven't researched Rapid Deployment to a high level.

Send the Attacks!

Now that you have completed all of the preparations, it is time to start the process of farming for your Stone Dragon Armor. To find a piece of Stone Dragon Armor, your attack MUST include either your Great Dragon or your Water Dragon.

  1. Locate the closest level 10 Hills wilderness to your city.
  2. Send two separate attacks with at least 25,000 Longbowmen. Do not include your Great Dragon or Water Dragon in the first two attacks. This will help clear the wilderness of monsters and cut down on the healing time for your Great Dragons between attacks.
  3. When your troops return, send out two more attacks of 25,000 LBM and include your Great Dragon in one and your Water Dragon in the other.
  4. Repeat step 3 until you find all four pieces of Stone Dragon Armor.

How Long Does It Take?

Farming for items in Dragons of Atlantis used to take much longer. Once they revamped the way Dragon Eggs and Armor were found, they basically cut down on the amount of work and time required to find special items. The major change was requiring a Great or Elemental Dragon to be present on the attack to acquire special items. Because you can only send out as many attacks as you have Great or Elemental Dragons, the game changed from having to hit a wilderness or camp hundreds of times to having to hit it a few times with longer wait times in between.

That said, it only took me about an hour of farming a level 10 Hill that was a 2 minute march from my city to acquire all 4 pieces of Stone Dragon Armor.
